چکیده

Intraslope lobes, or perched are attracting scientific interest because they represent a key archive between the shelf and deep basin plain when looking at complete source-to-sink depositional system across continental margin can form significant offshore hydrocarbon plays. In this study, we focus on detailed characterization of intraslope lobes Motta San Giovanni Formation (Miocene, Calabria), which were deposited in confined conditions during Miocene along transform margin. We determine typical facies associations stratigraphic architecture these using 3D digital outcrop model resulting from combined Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) walking acquisition, together with sedimentological logging geological mapping. propose recognition criteria for identification including geometries, integrated within model. A comparison other well-known as well floor is finally discussed, to highlight peculiarities margins. The diagnostic types includes four main stages evolution: 1 ) Stage 1—isolated detached lobe precursor response flushed hydraulic jump, 2 2—prograding aggrading elements associated relatively stable submerged jump Channel-Lobe Transition Zone (CLTZ), 3 3—major bypass lateral accretion local aggradation interpreted renewal normal CTLZ, 4 4—erosion then abandonment. development active margins allowed by tectonically induced slope segmentation confinement. such context, flow stripping overspill processes occurred. Resulting appear be particularly small thin sandy deposits. They could considered end-member classification based Net-to-Gross content (high) taking into account their thickness/width ratio (intermediate 10:1 100:1 lines).

Transience and Persistence in the Depositional Record of Continental Margins

Continental shelves and coastal plains are large persistent depositional landforms, which are stationary (nonmigrating) at their proximal ends and characterized by relatively steady long-term growth. In detail, however, their surface form and stratigraphic record is built of transient freely migrating landscape elements. We derive the timescales of crossover from transient to persistent topogra...

the search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame

this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

Great earthquakes along the Western United States continental margin: implications for hazards, stratigraphy and turbidite lithology

We summarize the importance of great earthquakes (Mw & 8) for hazards, stratigraphy of basin floors, and turbidite lithology along the active tectonic continental margins of the Cascadia subduction zone and the northern San Andreas Transform Fault by utilizing studies of swath bathymetry visual core descriptions, grain size analysis, Xray radiographs and physical properties. Recurrence times of...

Environmental change, hydrate dissociation, and submarine slope failure along continental margins: the role of saturation anomalies in landslide triggering

Submarine landslides occur along active and passive continental margins and are potentially triggered by numerous factors including the dissociation of gas hydrates. The hazard produced by such landslides can damage infrastructure (oil platforms, telecommunication lines), generate tsunamis, and cause a catastrophic release of methane to the atmosphere and ocean. Here we develop numerical models...
